Business Development Executive
Are you keen to work in a sales environment that values long term client relationships? Are you excited to learn how to use generative AI to support your work, keeping your skills at the cutting edge?
Role: Business Development Executive
Salary band: base £30,000 - £35,000 + commissions
Requirements: Experience selling digital products
Location: Havas Village London, 3 Pancras Sq, London N1C 4AG
Role
At Inviqa, we are a trusted partner to our clients. That means we establish positive long term relationships, working together with them as one team to help them achieve their strategic goals through the application of digital services and products.
The purpose of the BDR role at Inviqa is to initiate and build relationships with senior decision making contacts in our target companies. You will be targeting the people responsible for digital investment within a defined set of accounts and other suitable, related organisations, and converting those conversations into engagement opportunities for Inviqa.
Inviqa operates in both the UK and German markets, and this role will cover both regions. That means fluent spoken and written German is a core requirement for the role. Your language skills should be strong enough to engage with prospects confidently and convincingly. A good understanding of German business cultural norms would also be a major plus.
You will be responsible for outbound lead generation activities, using email / linkedin / networking / phone etc, to drive those introductions. We will teach you to make good use of new technologies like generative AI to improve your research and prospecting skills. You will demonstrate Inviqa’s value proposition, market insight and thought leadership qualities through relevant communication and engagement techniques. Your goal is to nurture relationships to ultimately lead the prospects to engaging with Inviqa at the point they need our services.
The time between initial contact and the prospect engaging with Inviqa will vary, and may be quite extended - even up to 12 months in some cases. You will need to execute a thoughtful, value added, insight led contact strategy to engage the prospect in a way that reflects the values of Inviqa, potentially over an extended period.
This means you will need to identify emerging trends within the digital world, follow these target organisations (their competitors, consumer and market trends, the supporting technical landscape and any other relevant aspects) and adjust your approach and working style accordingly to each target sector and organisation to provide a very personalised outreach contact strategy.
You will not be responsible for closing deals. You will nurture prospects of the appropriate size and shape to the point where you can hand over to a senior practitioner at Inviqa to develop the conversation into an opportunity.
You will also qualify inbound leads against published criteria to ensure best fit for our business.
You will be targeted on, and paid commission on, arranging qualified meetings with our target client base - if those meetings lead to Inviqa’s engagement, there’s extra commission on top.
Responsibilities & Duties
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Selection - Using Inviqa’s CRM (HubSpot) system, to select appropriate companies to approach within our target market space
Identification - Networking with selected companies, to identify appropriate contacts
Desk Research - To be able to gather and collate useful reference materials in order to deliver a highly relevant and personalised contact strategy
Engagement - Engaging with decision makers through a variety of channels to collate account intelligence; using interview techniques to uncover projects or pain, and thereby driving Inviqa opportunities forward
Calls - Calling leads (quality is more important than quantity), collecting and confirming information, classifying companies
Value Proposition - Presenting the value Inviqa delivers; aligning pitch to the prospect’s pain/needs and in doing so, gain agreement to meet Inviqa’s practitioners to progress the discussion
Bookings - Booking meetings via discovery calls and face to face contact
Opportunity Management - Updating and maintaining account intelligence and your activity list in Inviqa’s CRM (HubSpot) and Deal Management (PipeDrive) systems
Marketing - assisting in orchestrating marketing campaigns and ensuring that they are followed up appropriately
Events - Working in tandem with the Marketing team in coordinating various events, e.g. supper clubs and workshops, and collating interest for future engagement
Pipeline - building the pipeline, so that Inviqa is ready and “in the know” when projects are likely to be started
Other - Other duties as required by the needs of the business
Competencies & Skills
You share our core values: Purpose, Human, Open, Learning and Together. This means that you are goal driven and deliver on your commitments. You empathise with clients and colleagues. You share knowledge and give honest feedback. You have a thirst for learning, and collaboration is key to how you drive success.
Key skills include
Languages - fluent in English and German
Opportunity Identification: the ability to identify opportunities for Inviqa that match our specified organisation size, shape, culture etc
Communication Skills: excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to elicit and convey pertinent information quickly
Industry Knowledge: an understanding of the digital landscape and how such solutions are used for business goals
Multitasking: the ability to manage multiple opportunities
Emotional Intelligence: a driven, yet friendly, personality. You’ll be goal oriented, with a high personal drive, integrity, empathy and intelligence
Organisation Skills: the ability to self-organise and carry out your own administration work

Resilience: a positive attitude, and the ability not to take personally any adverse response
Teamworking skills: the ability to work as part of a team, and not be afraid to ask relevant questions
Self-motivation: the drive to get things done without being asked to do them.
You will have previous experience of working in demand generation, in the B2B tech/digital sector. You’ll have worked in an environment where you’ve had contact with senior C level directors. You will be accustomed to pipeline management, and should have used a software system for managing this.
